Micro-Credits Program
One of the forms of assistance offered to families supported by the Foyer is economic rehabilitation, which aims to help families achieve financial independence. In this context, the Foyer de l’Amitié launched, in 1998, in collaboration with NEF (Near East Foundation) and HCI (Human Concern International), a microcredit program.
This project consists of providing loans to individuals who wish to create or develop a productive project in order to improve their living conditions and, subsequently, contribute to the development of society. The selection criteria are clearly defined, and the repayment conditions are well adapted. The “Microcredit Project” enables these families and individuals to achieve economic independence, thereby fostering their personal growth and their economic and social development. To date, this program has enabled 80 people (fathers/mothers, young people, men and women) to start their own productive projects and, as a result, improve their families’ living conditions.
Finally, the Foyer de l’Amitié places great importance on coordinating its work with that of other social institutions in the region, as well as with its partners abroad, whether associations or individuals. The Foyer also maintains very close ties with young people who have benefited, at some point in their lives, from one of its programs, through a “Foyer Youth Group,” whose members continue to be actively involved in the various activities carried out by the Foyer.
