Our History
- Le Foyer de l’Amitié is a social center founded in 1979 in Zahlé, the capital of the Beqaa, by the Basilian Salvatorian Religious Order, whose Superior General is Father Sleiman Abou Zeid. (The Order takes its name from Saint Basil and Jesus the Savior. It is part of the Melkite Catholic Church, religious, missionary, clerical, with three vows, of pontifical right and papal exemption).
- Le Foyer de l’Amitié is a Lebanese non-governmental organization, officially recognized as being of public utility by the Lebanese State (Decree-Law No. 2212). Since 1979, it has been working with the populations of Lebanon, and especially the Beqaa, who are the most disadvantaged.
